  22.                                    OVERVIEW.

  24.  FOOTY is a dedicated football database which is completely mouse driven
  25. and simple to use.
  26.  Whilst using footy, you can sit back in your favourite computer chair with
  27. your mouse-mat on your lap and keep track of whats happening in the football
  28. league.
  29.  
  30.                          MAIN MENU
  31.  
  32. ENTER DATA
  33.  
  34.  Click this to load your database with the current league tables.
  35. You should only need to do this the first time you use the program.
  36. league tables are then kept up to date by entering results via the
  37. "ENTER RESULTS" function.
  38.  
  39.  After selecting ENTER DATA you will be asked to select the division
  40. you require followed by the team name.
  41.  Choose the option you require from the list on the screen and click
  42. on it with the mouse.
  43.  Next you will be required to enter the following information in this format.
  44. HOME WINS-HOME DRAWS-HOME LOSSES-HOME GOALS SCORED-HOME GOALS CONCEDED
  45. AWAY WINS-AWAY DRAWS-AWAY LOSSES-AWAY GOALS SCORED-HOME GOALS CONCEDED
  46. (for details of how to obtain a current database see bottom of file)
  47. This is the format that tables are presented in the National press.
  48. select the number from the screen and click on it.
  49.  After this you can enter the teams last six home and away results
  50. or you can skip this with cancel.
  51.  This will take you back to the select team screen.
  52. if you wish to enter more data for a team in that division select another
  53. team from the list and repeat the whole process.
  54.  If you wish to change the division you are using or return to the MAIN MENU
  55. then click on change division.
  56.  This will take you back to the select division screen,if you wish to
  57. enter more data from another division then select the division from the
  58. screen and click on it.
  59.  If you wish to return to the main menu then select MENU.

  62. ENTER RESULTS

  64.  Choosing this option enables you to keep your data up to date by entering
  65. results in the normal way.

  67.  HOME TEAM - GOALS SCORED BY HOME TEAM
  68.  AWAY TEAM - GOALS SCORED BY AWAY TEAM
  69.  eg. ARSENAL 1 LIVERPOOL 1

  71.  After this your result is printed to the screen.
  72.  If it is correct then select O.K.
  73.  If not hit error and the database will not be changed.

  75. PLEASE NOTE.
  76.  When information is entered via either of the above routines,the database is
  77. updated in memory only,
  78.  It will be saved to disk only when you "change division" and select yes
  79. from the "DO YOU WANT TO SAVE DATA?" screen.

  81. VIEW DATA.

  83.  Selecting division and team gives you the all the current data about one
  84. particular team.
  85.  As well as all the usual stuff, you will see on the right hand side of the
  86. screen the position of the selected team in all seven of the league formats
  87. used by the forecast routine.

  92. home win percentage league
  93. away win percentage league
  94. home lose percentage league
  95. away lose percentage league

  97. It is not a good thing to be top of the last two.

  99. VIEW LEAGUE.

  101. Lets you look at the league tables in any of the above formats,

  104. FORECAST.
  105.  
  106. The forecast routine will attempt to tell you which matches will result in a
  107. draw.
  108.  You will be presented with information about the two teams to guide you in
  109. your selection.
  110. Obviously it is not entirely accurate or I would not be sitting here writing
  111. these docs.

  113. NEW SEASON.
  114.  
  115. At the end of the season follow the prompts to alter the database ready for
  116. the next year.
  117.  
  118. If you accidentaly enter this routine you can escape back to the Main Menu
  119. by clicking zero in response to all the prompts.

  128. Using footy should not harm your computer in any way,but should this prove
  129. to be the case the author will not be held responsible.
  130. When this program left me it was virus free.
  131. If it has picked one up since then,either phone me or use a virus killer.
  132. If the virus killer kills the program send me a blank disk and i will send
  133. you a new copy.
